Tenuta San Giorgio’s new stunning awards

The great satisfactions continue at Tenuta San Giorgio: new stunning awards have arrived in recent weeks to attest to the quality of our products.

The protagonists? Our incredible bubbles and the wonderful Manzoni Bianco. Let’s take a closer look at what it was all about.

IWC

The International Wine Challenge is considered to be one of the most influential and rigorous competitions in the wine industry, and 2022 was its 38th year. The wines are divided by varietal, region of origin and residual sugars are blind tested by a panel of 8 judges and given a score. If the score is high enough they are awarded a medal.

We entered four references and now boast four medals: our bubbles Ripe Frondose Prosecco Extra Dry Millesimato 2021 e Opus·V Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry were commended; while the two Flumen Prosecco Doc Treviso Brut and Extra Dry both received a bronze medal.

James Suckling

Among the year’s greatest satisfactions we cannot fail to mention the James Suckling scores obtained just a few weeks ago. James Suckling is one of the most famous and influential wine critics all over the world and his reviews were like a Venice Leone d’Oro and a Cannes Palma d’Oro to us.

Again, we celebrate our Ripe Frondose, which was awarded 89 points. Do you perhaps have a bottle at home? You should definitely follow the suggestions of the wine expert and tastes when still young, so to best appreciate the “fresh apple and lime on the nose and palate, which has a silky mineral underlay with bright, zingy fruit on top”.

The greatest satisfaction, however, comes from Insula, the native Manzoni Bianco del Veneto Igt, vintage 2020.

Its 91 points were determined by its “interesting aromas and flavors of sun-dried limes, papaya, blanched almonds and hints of river stones”. Are these rivers stones our ciottoli del Piave maybe? Also the medium to full body was appreciated, as well as the “clean, rather cool fruit and mineral finish”.

It’s now time to celebrate the new victories: cheers!
